Beware of Network Marketing Scams

Tip! Find each individual's personal strength. Many times, the network marketing industry is so focused on duplication that we forget the fact that each individual brings a unique set of skills, strengths, and experiences.

Some companies claim a huge payout percentage. Buyer beware! If a company pays out too much in commissions, chances are great that it'll go belly up or be forced to make major revisions.

Companies advertising high payouts frequently can do so because they know that few distributors reach those deeper levels or sales volumes high enough to earn the special bonuses.

Bonuses are paid on matching volume. This means if you have $2000 in your left leg and $3000 in your right leg, you will be paid on $2000 from each leg. The remaining $1000 from the right leg should carry forward to the next pay period. Stay away from companies that start you from zero each pay period and do not carry forward.

In evaluating a compensation plan, it is preferable to choose one that:

  • pays a weekly commission

  • has reachable sales volume levels

Tip! After giving a complete network marketing presentation to a prospect, you discover that he/she was never qualified to begin with. He was irrational, illogical, unmotivated and didn't have two dimes to rub together.

  • does not promise '80%' payouts

  • has highest payouts on levels 3 and 4 if it is a breakaway or matrix plan

  • carries forward any unbalanced volume

Don't try to distribute for more tan one company at a time, even if they are in non-competing industries. You lose credibility with potential prospects. You also halve your time and your effectiveness, which results in half of what you might otherwise have earned. You will need to determine if the company has a compensation plan where anyone has the ability to make money, not just those at the top. Ask yourself these questions: Can I earn a check within a short amount of time? Will I be compensated for unbalanced volume in the future? Is this the best type of compensation plan for immediate income as well as for long-term security?

Tip! Use your products regularly. This is Number 1 for a reason, this is the most ignored part of ANY network marketing business.

Conclusion

Persuasion is the missing puzzle piece that will crack the code to dramatically increase your income, improve your relationships, and help you get what you want, when you want, and win friends for life. Ask yourself how much money and income you have lost because of your inability to persuade and influence. Think about it. Sure you've seen some success, but think of the times you couldn't get it done. Has there ever been a time when you did not get your point across? Were you unable to convince someone to do something? Have you reached your full potential? Are you able to motivate yourself and others to achieve more and accomplish their goals? What about your relationships? Imagine being able to overcome objections before they happen, know what your prospect is thinking and feeling, feel more confident in your ability to persuade. Professional success, personal happiness, leadership potential, and income depend on the ability to persuade, influence, and motivate others.

Tip! High fees. Network marketing training scams typically require a large, one-time fee to be paid in full in advance, which reflects the hit and run mentality.

Kurt Mortensen's trademark is Magnetic Persuasion; rather than convincing others, he teaches that you should attract them, just like a magnet attracts metal filings. He teaches that sales have changed and the consumer has become exponentially more skeptical and cynical within the last five years. Most persuaders are using only 2 or 3 persuasion techniques when there are actually 120 available! His message and program has helped thousands and will help you achieve unprecedented success in both your business and personal life.

Tip! Some network marketing operators take the business reluctantly as if its status will not able to decline in time.

Grow Your Home Based Business By Outsourcing

Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing
Tip! Do something in your home business every day.

As your home based business grows, you are going to quickly discover that you can't do it all. Wouldn't it be a relief to find reliable people that can help your business grow while you focus on more important issues? When you outsource to the right company, this can free you up to focus on tasks that make you the most money.

A popular solution is outsourcing. When you outsource, you hire experienced people and let them use their creative talents while you focus on other tasks. Another benefit is that the workers you hire may be more up to date on the latest information and technology in their specific fields and can be assets to your clients, as well, offering improved quality service.

The first step in outsourcing is looking at all the major tasks that you do to run your business. Look at your ‘To Do' list and office area and ask yourself, what do I do that someone else can do?

Tip! Be patient and understand that large incomes never happen overnight in any home based business. This is even more true if you are working a full-time job in addition to working your home business.

Look at your business and see what is piling up. Do you struggle responding to your customer service emails? Do you have articles to write but can't get finish them? Is your office dirty and you need someone to clean it? Do you have a software project that you need developed? These are a couple things that you can outsource.

Practical Home Business Ideas. Over 130 Business Ideas You Can Start From Home.

Write out a description for each task that you think that you would like to outsource. Then write out exactly what you want done, when you would like it completed and how you would like the end product to look when completed.

Once you write out exactly what you want done, you need to research to find companies that can do the tasks that you need done.

Call around and surf the Internet and ask other home based business operators which companies they recommend. Check forum posts and inquire for advice and suggestions. Shop around for comparisons. Do your due diligence. You want to make sure that you choose the right outsourcing companies.

Great Home Business Ideas And Reports. Free Reports-2000rofits: Copy Us. Master Reprint Rights, Secret Formulas, Spy Software, Recipes, tons of materials to resell.

You want to take the time to research each company that you are considering, because if you choose the wrong company it could cost you a lot of money and time.

Remember, you are in charge. Set up a trial period with these companies. Don't lock into a contract. Look for people that communicate well and are flexible. Don't be afraid to try another company. Remember to always treat people kindly. Treat people the way that you would want to be treated. You may choose to go back to them later. Be thankful.

Tip! Learn everything possible about your home business. Keep up to date with things that happening.

Keep in mind that you are spending money when you are outsourcing. You want to make sure that you are getting a good return on the investment that you are making. Is the time that you are saving being used wisely?

Outsourcing can be extremely expensive and can completely wipe out your budget. Make sure that you plan and research before you spend any money. There are many companies that will do what you want. Ask a lot of questions. Before you hire anyone, make sure that they can do the job that you need done.

Tip! Act like your home business is a full-time business and soon it will become just that.

When you are outsourcing a software development project, make sure that the companies that you choose to work with have developed similar software. Before you outsource software projects, you want to make sure you know exactly what you want the software to do, because you can spend a fortune on making changes.

If you are outsourcing software development, you can break up the payments that you need to make to them in four installments. This will keep the software developers motivated to work.

It is easy to just go with the first company that looks good. Don't be lazy. Do the research. Do your due diligence. It will pay off in the end.

Tip! Operate your home business in a professional manner. Never give fake claims about your home business product, or falsify your current income.

Outsourcing can save you a lot of time and can help you make a lot more money, but if you choose the wrong company you could lose a lot of money. Keep charging ahead with your business. Don't quit. God bless you. Jesus loves you.

Researching Information To Develop Your Unique Content

Researching Information To Develop Your Unique Content
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

We live in a sea of information. And information overload is an increasingly common complaint. Part of the complaint arises because we get hit with different headlines that point to the same content. So we waste time on things that have no added value. Bummer.

When you email your list or put up content on your site, and assuming you want to generate loyalty, it's necessary that you have content others haven't seen a dozen times elsewhere.

If this makes sense to you, here are some ideas you can use to EASILY generate fresh content with a minimal amount of time and effort.

First of all, think about a subject in which you are interested. Let's say it's horticulture. Now if you're not aware of it, let me put you in the picture. Most people do web searches from Google's home page and stop there. Not at all creative. Not at all digging for information from which to develop original content.

So let's go exploring...

1 - Google has lots of tools besides just web searches. They let you check the news. (http://news.google.com) As of this writing, there are 1,680 news items listed by Google on the word horticulture. Bet you could easily do a summary of some of these articles and create your own content. But let's not stop there.

2 - Google also has "groups." (http://groups.google.com/) These are folks who like to discuss *your* subject. So now you can go even farther. Look up horticulture in their groups. Now this information is potentially gold. Why? Because you can see what it is about horticulture that lots of folks are interested in.

Think you might be able to do a little research and come up with a free or even a for-profit report that gives them what they want?

Check out Google's other tools, too. You can even get research info from universities through Google. Start here: http://www.google.com/intl/en/options/

3 - Next method: Do this search (keeping in the punctuation as written):

+horticulture +free +filetype:pdf

As of this writing, Google shows 196,000 hits for this query. What you get here are free downloads in pdf format about your subject.

Now you can't simply copy and use it as your own information. You have to create your writing in your own words. But there's no law that says you can't summarize what you find in other people's works. To make the point, you could even call your work something like: "Survey Report: Latest from the Horticulture Front!"

4 - Go to Alexa.com. Do a search on your subject, in this example, horticulture. It provides the exact same results as Google because it's powered by Google. So why bother, right? Wrong. Because Alexa *does* provide value added information.

When you do the search, you don't want to click the link that takes you to the listed site. Instead you want to follow the link that says "Site info." When you do this, you'll find a section called: "People who visit this page also visit." This can be very valuable because it potentially shows *what the marketplace is interested in.* This can enable you to tailor your information product to what people want.

These are just some of the easy ways to branch out your explorations and find gold to weave into golden braids.

Golden searching... :)

Affiliate Marketing - The Art of the Squeeze Page

Affiliate Marketing - The Art of the Squeeze Page
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

Affiliate marketing's one of the quickest methods to generate cash flow on the web today.

Among its many benefits is the fact that you don't have to spend time or money researching and developing a new product. All of this has been done for you by the product owner.

This is a tremendous burden lifted off your shoulders because this is usually the most costly aspect of any business venture.

A word of caution though, you should still do a little research yourself as to whether the market wants the product you are looking to promote and whether the price point is fair and reasonable enough to attract a big audience.

Once this is done and you have found the product or service you want to promote and are satisfied with the affiliate program you should set up what is referred to as a squeeze page.

Simply put, a squeeze page is a one page pre sales letter that entices the prospect to leave their name and email address in order to receive more information on the product or service of choice.

There are several points to be made for this superb sales tactic. Number one, you set yourself apart from all the other affiliates promoting the same product. Number two, you build your own opt-in list that you can promote other products to.

So what do you need to use this tactic? A few basics and a little skill.

The first thing you need is a web hosting account and domain name. These are very inexpensive these days and are a must have for anyone who is serious about doing business online.

Second is an autoresponder. These too are fairly inexpensive. Many hosting accounts will now offer free autoresponders with their service.

Third is an HTML editor. There are several free editors out there that are easily found through a quick search. Nothing fancy is needed, just a simple user friendly application.

And the final ingredient is a little copy writing skill.

Here is a tip on what to write on your page: Go to the product sales page. Pick out the highlights, the biggest benefits you can see offered. Think about what other benefits there are that may not be stated already and jot them down.

Now go into your HTML editor and put together a small sales page using a good headline, subhead and bullet points listing all the benefits you gathered. This is where the copy writing skill comes in.

Put the email capture form generated from your autoresponder on the bottom of the page. Let your prospect know that by leaving their name and email address you will then reveal this highly coveted tool, piece of information, service or whatever it is you have and they so desperately want.

Do not mention the name of the product or service on the capture page, just the benefits. The reason for this is because they may have seen this product or service before and were sitting on the fence about it and you want the prospect to purchase through your link. You are going to nudge them over the fence with your presentation.

All you are trying to do is build interest, pique their curiosity and whet their appetite for more information.

Set up your autoresponder with 6-7 emails that go out in 3-4 day intervals, each building on one of the benefits mentioned on your squeeze page.

Then add in other related services or products that you are an affiliate of. Repetition is the key and your squeeze page gives you that advantage over other affiliates.

Staying Sane in a Home Business - An Overload Rescue Plan

Staying Sane in a Home Business - An Overload Rescue Plan
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

Tip! Operate your home

business in a professional manner. Never give fake claims about your home business product, or falsify your current income.

At last, you have achieved your dream. You've escaped the traditional, away from home work force and are now self-employed.

There you sit, in your spiffy new office - whether it's in the corner of the sitting room or in a converted bedroom - surrounded by your equally spiffy new toys...your computer, desk and some strategically placed shelves.

Your new multi-function center will print stuff, fax stuff and copy stuff. (It won't hang out the washing, but hey, you can't have everything.)

You've even got work coming-in and the immediate worry about making a living has vanished. Hooray! You really *can* work from home!

At first, working at home is pure bliss. Then you get a week when everybody and their dog seems to want your services. After putting in a few late nights, you meet all the deadlines and think; phew...I'm glad that's over! You decide to relax and give yourself a day off. After all, you worked all through the weekend and earned it, right?

Tip! Act like your home business is a full-time business and soon it will become just that.

Unfortunately, the following week you find yourself off to a bad start trying to make-up for your day off. Before you know it, you find that you're dropping further and further behind. You reflect gloomily that when you were working for someone else, at least at the end of the day you were finished...what didn't get done didn't get done!

Well, it's time to take heart and set a few simple strategies in place that will keep you in control of your time...and your sanity.

Tip! Learn everything possible about your home business. Keep up to date with things that happening.

=== 1. Do NOT Accept Any New Work This Week. ===

Take a good look at what you have on your plate now, and carefully plan the week ahead. Your aim is to regain control. Tell new clients that you are fully booked, but you can put them on a priority list to be phoned next week. (This will not only allow you to catch up, but make your services appear highly in demand.)

=== 2. Build In Time For Leisure and Rest. ===

Not only for this week, but EVERY week. A half hour walk; a twenty-minute break in the sun with a cup of coffee; a quick swim or a movie outing with friends - all these activities can recharge your batteries. You will find that you can achieve far more when you are rested and alert. (How many times have you sat at the computer staring at the screen, achieving very little, because you're over-tired?)

Tip! Do something in your home business every day.

=== 3. Tackle Urgent Tasks First. ===

If you're behind, your first step must be to contact all clients and arrange firm new deadlines. Make sure you base these new deadlines on what you CAN achieve, not what you HOPE you can achieve. If any existing client needs your services or products urgently, bump them up the queue.

=== 4. Prioritize Remaining Tasks. ===

Scrap anything that is not essential, and delegate what you can. Consider involving family, business associates or friends to handle some tasks. (Warning: do not hand over tasks that must be carried out only by you as the principal of the business. Your reputation is important.)

Tip! It's easier, and less risky than ever before to continually test and improve your internet home business.

=== 5. Set Achievable Daily Goals. ===

If you finish a task ahead of schedule, begin the next... but adhere to a definite cut-off time each day. What you are doing this week is establishing a system that will continue to work for you.

Getting out of trouble when your business is in overload is just like getting out of debt. Your business rating is similar to your credit rating - nothing can be gained by denying that a problem exists. Nothing can be gained by slipping deeper into the mire. Call a halt; contact the main players; set workable strategies in place and you can quickly regroup.

Tip! DECIDE WHETHER TO JOIN A COMPANY'S AFFILIATE PROGRAM OR PURSUE OTHER OPPORTUNITIES. There are many different ways to start a home business.

Before you know it, your home business dream will be on track once more.

To be Successful - Market Test Your Products
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

Tip! Network with other home business owners and offer to barter goods or services. If you own a gift basket business, assemble baskets featuring a direct sales consultant's products, and customers are purchasing from both of you at once.

Nowadays making money online has become easier with the use of affiliate programs. Some of these affiliate programs are better than others. The main site or product owners looking for affiliates offer some hefty commissions; some offer between 30% to 90% commissions. All you have to do is register with them and place your affiliate link on your website or in your newsletter.

Hopefully those visitors that come to your site or receive your newsletter will click on your link. Once they do that all they need to do is make a purchase. Once that is done then you will receive your affiliate payment. Simple enough to do when you think about it but with the internet clogged up with so many affiliate sales pages sometimes it takes more then just posting a link and letting the emails fly to your members.

So how can you increase your affiliate commission checks? Simple, just change the way you do your marketing. You have to remember that you are not the only one offering the same product or service. So you need to set yourself apart from the rest of the affiliates.

Instead of just plastering the same product out there and giving the same speech about how product "X" will make your life easier, take the time to actually show your customers that it will do as you say. Look, if you are in this Internet business just to make a fast buck we have news for you.

You'll make it fast but it won't last. Taking the time to use that product you are offering up as the answer to your members needs, will go a long way in building trust from those on your list.

Tip! DECIDE WHETHER TO JOIN A COMPANY'S AFFILIATE PROGRAM OR PURSUE OTHER OPPORTUNITIES. There are many different ways to start a home business.

By taking the time to use that new product not only shows you the inner workings of it but also lets you know if you are just offering the same old regurgitated item that everyone else is selling. Sales pages and package images change every day in this business. Did you ever wonder why? It could be because there really is nothing new out there!

However, if you think you have a gem then test, test and test some more. Write a sales page or newsletter showing the benefits of using this new product. Be willing to answer questions from those that purchase from you. This builds trust and credibility not to mention an increase in sales.

If you don't think testing a product and becoming familiar with it won't matter, then just take a moment and remember what it was like when you purchased something. Did it work like you were told? If not was the reseller willing to help you with it or just give you a refund?

So test that new product, become its master and show your customers its worth and they won't just purchase from you, they'll turn into the best marketing tool you'll ever have.

How VoIP Can Globalize Your Home Business

How VoIP Can Globalize Your Home Business
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) services are significantly less expensive than the traditional telephone long distance packages. This is only one advantage of using VoIP. For a home business, this can provide more benefits if you know how to exploit it.

While there are other options, you can choose to use your regular home phone to take advantage of VoIP technology. This can be done by using a VoIP telephone adapter to connect your phone to the internet via a high speed modem. VoIP technology allows internet users with high speed (broadband) access to place telephone calls over the internet.

There are many VoIP service providers with whom one can sign up for a calling plan.

As VoIP rides on the internet technology, there are many features that are now possible as compared to the traditional phone. Many traditional phone features that come at an extra charge are also provided free with the basic calling plan.

1. Cheaper Than Traditional Phones
Using VoIP is a cheaper option if you make a lot of long distance and international calls. This is possible as the call uses the same internet facility as you do for your web access and email.

Upon signing up for a calling plan with a service provider, the VoIP telephone adapter will typically be provided free.

All calls between people using the same service provider are free regardless of location. This alone can provide significant savings if your business associates use the same service providers.

There are many features that come free with the calling plan. Some of these features are:
- call waiting
- caller ID
- three-way calling
- call forwarding
- last number redial
- speed dial
- voicemail

2. Allows Mobility
When travelling, you can take the VoIP adapter with you and instantly turn a phone anywhere in the world into your local phone. This will require a high speed internet connection.

This is possible as the VoIP adapter is specially coded with your VoIP phone number.

With the VoIP Physical Portability feature, you can still receive your customers' phone calls while travelling on business matters, on holiday or moving home.

3. Establishing Business Offices At Multiple Locations
VoIP Virtual Numbers allow multiple inbound telephone access numbers in different cities. With this feature, it is possible to establish your business in multiple locations by creating a "Virtual Presence" using virtual numbers.

These virtual numbers can be routed to any number that you specify. If you lived in Chicago, you can have access numbers in New York, Houston and San Francisco all routing through to your number in Chicago.

With this feature, business addresses can be established in different cities and even countries. You can set up these virtual numbers based on the locations from where you expect to receive many phone calls. This could be your existent customers or your prospects.

Besides enhancing the image of your business, customers get the benefit of calling a local number which is less costly for them.

Most service providers who offer this feature charge about $5 per month for each additional access number. This makes it possible to establish business offices at multiple locations at a low cost.

4. Enhanced Voice Mail
Some service providers offer you the ability to receive voice mail messages as an email attachment. You can play them back as a sound file through your computer.

As a home business owner, you can also save these voice mails to your computer's hard drive for future reference. You can also forward this to another person if follow up action is required.

5. Selecting A VoIP Service Provider
Your choice of the VoIP service provider and the calling plan depends on your unique needs.

Depending on your business needs, you can select calling plans for local/long distance or international calls. International calls can be made with local/long distance plans but at an additional per minute rate. International plans typically include USA local and long distance coverage.

Do not buy based on the number of features provided by the service provider. Decide on the features you require to manage your home business. Then match these against the features available.

According to independent surveys, most of the established VoIP carriers are about the same in terms of voice quality. Good customer service is also another criteria for selecting the service provider. You can read customer reviews on these aspects to help you choose the service provider.

There are service providers that include a "Money Back Guarantee". Once you have initiated the service, check against your service quality criteria. If you are not happy with the results, then cancel the service and request for your money back. Make sure you do this within the "trial" period allocated.

If you are on a month-to-month plan, your service is automatically renewable each month, until you cancel the service. So, you have the option of canceling. Some annual plans allow you to cancel on a month-to-month basis, but may include other charges. Check out all these details before you sign up.

Selling Your Professional Services Through ClickBank

Selling Your Professional Services Through ClickBank

Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

ClickBank is usually used by merchants who want to sell and
deliver digital products such as e-books or software but not
many people know that ClickBank can also be used to sell professional services over the Internet.

This flexibility allows the sale of a very broad range of digital
services:
* Writing services
* Artistic services
* Professional services
* Technical services
* Marketing services
* Personal services
* Critique services

ClickBank does require that you set a fixed price so charging
an hourly rate isn't acceptable. The buyer needs to know exactly
what he/she is paying for and exactly what price he/she will
pay for that service.

Despite the flexibility to sell various types of digital merchandise,
every ClickBank sale involves a specific pre-defined offering
at a fixed price. Before a sale takes place, a ClickBank buyer
wants to know exactly what she is buying and how much she is
going to pay for it.

If your service can be customized to offer a specifically defined
package at a fixed price for your customer, then ClickBank might
be another way to bring in additional revenue. Examples may
include:
*An attorney may offer filling out a specific legal document
with instructions about how to file it.
*A Webmaster may offer a template and offer to customize the
logo or other graphics
*A writer may offer to ghost write a certain number of articles
at a fixed price.
*An artist may offer custom art work or graphic design at a
fixed price.

So, use your imagination and create some new and exciting digital
services that you can sell through your ClickBank account!

Don’t Fall for the Medical Billing Scam

Don’t Fall for the Medical Billing Scam
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

Just about everyone who has been online very long has been inundated with every possible business opportunity there is and in most cases, the ones that flood the inbox each day are rip-offs.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, there are many fraudsters that you would be better off avoiding because they are only out for your money. One of the ones right at the top of the list is medical billing.

The ad:

As demand for health services increases, the medical billing business has grown by leaps and bounds the past decade. Learn how to start this business.

The problems:

Scammers charge a fee of $300 to $500 claiming to provide everything to launch a business but the databases they provide are out of date and the software they use is not authorized.

Doctors who contract out their medical billing often use established firms and not someone working from home.

Only a very small percentage of the thousands of consumers who purchase a medical billing business opportunity are able to find clients, start a business or generate revenues. Even after complaining to their credit card companies, government agencies or consumer groups, only a few people actually get refunds so the money back guarantee is meaningless.

Questions to Ask

Always ask questions and be sure that you understand what you are getting involved in. Here are some things that you will need to know before making your decision:

*What exactly will my duties be? Ask for each step of the process.
*Will I be earning a salary or will I be paid a commission?
*Who will pay me?
*When do I get my first check?
*What are the costs of equipment, membership fees and other costs?

If you or someone you know has already become a victim of this scam, contact the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) or log on to www.ftc.gov.

Setting Boundaries in Your Home-Based Office

Setting Boundaries in Your Home-Based Office
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

Many of us who have a home-based business have friends and family that misunderstand the whole concept of what it means to have a home-based business. Many well-meaning people cannot see the dedication that goes into running a business from home.

The neighbors don’t see your car leave for the office by 8 am, so they assume that because you are home, you aren’t really working and have plenty of time to sit and drink coffee, do yard work or other things people do on a day off.

Family members may call in the middle of the day just to let you know who is sick, which cousin you haven’t seen in 20 years just got married, or even feel slighted when you can’t take a dream vacation with them.

Working from home is very difficult for children and spouses to understand too. This is especially true when parent works the traditional 9-5 job away from home and the other operates a home-based business. Even when they see that you are working, they find it confusing when you can’t drop everything and spend time with them.

Here are some basic guidelines for boundaries that you can set so that everyone will have a better understanding of your situation and your needs as a home-based business operator:

* Explain to your family that you have specific working hours and let them know what the hours are. Let them know that your business is your source of income that you depend on. Let them know the hours or days that you are available.

* Be consistent. If you friends or family call during your working hours, let the call go to voice mail and then return calls after your scheduled working hours. If someone stops by, just remind him or her that you can’t visit because you are working.

* Set physical boundaries too. Have dedicated workspace and explain to your family that the equipment, office supplies, telephones, or computer is only to be used for your business and can’t be used or borrowed for other activities.

Many other situations and issues are sure to arise but for an increasing number of people around the world, a home-based business is helping them fulfill the American Dream. When you set and enforce a few boundaries, it might be a little easier to find the balance between relationships and business.

Outsourcing Your Business

Outsourcing Your Business
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

An online business consists of many essential components: website design, product creation, payment processing, salesletter, affiliate programs and so on. How about coupling that with sales and advert tracking?

When a lot of Internet marketers start out with their small home based businesses, they have totally no idea that their businesses could grow into "something that huge". One-man eBay stores grow into full-fledged online shops run by a team of dedicated salespersons, logistics and customer support personnel. At the end, you can never manage every little aspect of your business when it grows to a certain extent, and that is when outsourcing comes in handy.

However, care must be taken to choose the right people to outsource your tasks and equal detail must be paid attention to to provide the best working environment for greatest productivity. The tasks you should outsource to people are those mundane and repetitive jobs like answering emails, keeping track of stocks and sales figures and so on. This ensures that while you hand some of your responsibilities to other people, they have the least chances of screwing up because the jobs they are handed are easy and straightforward. In contrast, never let others make decisions that will greatly affect your business if you do not want to risk losing your business overnight.

While you have to hire people on wages for some jobs such as book keeping, some jobs can also be accomplished by outsourcing to freelancers. For examples, you can get ghostwriters to write good content for your website and you can get freelance designers to spice up your merchant site. You do not need to hire these people on a regular wage because once their job is done, they do not have much follow up work to do for your business. A good resource for freelancers would be www.elance.com and www.rentacoder.com, where freelancers and buyers have transactions on a per job basis.

When your business reaches a certain extent, you will start to find it hard to keep track of everything and this means time to outsource. Think of it this way: you may lose a little money to hire other people to do some of your daily tasks, but you earn more money from the increased productivity.

Getting the Word Out

Getting the Word Out
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

You have created your own product that has been proven to have great demand, you have a salesletter that has a sky-high conversion rate, but all that would be futile and you will earn nothing if you don't have a single soul passing by your website since you will have no one to sell to! You might be a total beginner and therefore do not have a massive mailing list to sell to, and your website is on the 103th page of search engine results pages. We can change all that with a few tried-and-tested traffic generation techniques.

First and foremost, let me make it clear to you that search engine optimization is not the only way to gain massive amounts of traffic! You see, search engine result pages are in a sense just web pages – similar to regular websites around the web. It is only so lucrative to have your website listed on the top of search engine results because many people use the search engine to search for information and arrive on the search engine results page. Hence, loads of people see your site's link and you attract loads of traffic.

The effect would have been exactly the same if your website is mentioned in a website with very high traffic. For example, imagine what would happen if your website was mentioned on the front page of Yahoo's website! Your website will receive so much visitors your bandwidth might go over the limit. So, the trick is to get other high-traffic websites in your niche to link to your website. To do this, you must give them very strong reasons to link to you – maybe it's this very thought-provoking article you've posted on your site, maybe it's the ingenious solution to this lifelong problem everyone has had for all their lives. In short, give people amazing reasons or value to earn a link from them.

Alternatively, you may link to a certain high-traffic website that's related to yours and ask for a link back. This technique is called reciprocal linking and is a very common technique for gaining links. However, before you even ask for the link, check your own website and ask yourself if you would be proud to recommend such a site to your readers, and whether it will provide useful information to your readers. In short, make sure your website has its own value and not just an empty shell devised to attract traffic!

Affiliate Marketing - A Good Place to Start

Affiliate Marketing - A Good Place to Start
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

A lot of people are getting involved in online business to help supplement their income or to find a way to get out of a dead-end job that they do not like doing. These are both very valid reasons for starting an online business. A good place to start an online business is by becoming an affiliate marketer because it is relatively quick and easy to start and requires very little, or no investment, in order to start making money online.

With an online business you can contact just about anybody with an Internet connection which means you have an extremely wide marketing area at your convenience. By being an affiliate marketer you do not have to create your own products or services in order to get started making money online. The owners, or merchants as they are sometimes called, give you the rights to market their products for free in most cases.

Affiliate marketing has become one of the most popular methods for making money online today because the products or services have already been created for you. All that is needed is to promote, or advertise them in order to make sells and earn sales commissions which are pre-determined by the owner of the product or service that you will be marketing.

In a typical affiliate marketing set up the merchant provides his or her affiliates with the tools and resources required to sell his product or service. The affiliates use these resources, such as banners, graphics, or text advertising to post on their websites, or to put in blogs. They can also be sent out in emails to create sales of the product or service that they are promoting. The affiliate then gets a percentage of the total price of the product when a sale is made, which is usually 25% to 75% of the total price of the product.

Signing up as an affiliate marketer is easy. Just find a company that offers an affiliate program for their product or service and fill in their online form with your personal details. Most affiliate programs are free to join and most offer valuable instructions to help you get started in selling their products. The merchant stands to gain from your success so it is to their benefit to help you succeed with your affiliate marketing business.

You can also use an alternative method and join what is called an affiliate network. An affiliate network is a business that hosts a variety of affiliate programs for online merchants at one web site location. Most affiliate networks are free and easy to join and provide a full range of products for you to promote. Some of the most popular affiliate networks are: Commission Junction, Clickbank, Linkshare, Cash Engines, and VIP Profits. To find a whole list of popular affiliate networks just go and do a search on affiliate networks or go to the site listed here: http://www.webaffiliatesdirectory.com.

Affiliate marketing is one of the most rewarding careers that anyone could have. Someone can literally start on a shoestring budget and work into a consistent and very decent salary within a relatively short period of time. Many people make thousands of dollars each month just selling products from the Clickbank network. Clickbank is actually a great place to start as an affiliate marketer because they have thousands of products to choose from to market and a very good support system in place. It is also very easy to sign up and join Clickbank. Here is their link: http://www.clickbank.com

Becoming a successful affiliate will not be all that easy though because there is quite a lot of competition online. One of the best ways to become successful in affiliate marketing does require additional knowledge and effort and that you create a good content based website. You can have this created for you or you can do your own research and learn how to do it yourself. But, it is important to have a good content based web site that you can imbed links to the products you are marketing within the content on your site. The products you promote should be relevant to the content on your site which will take some initial planning and consideration.

Using this approach you would be able to seed, or insert, several products that you are promoting into the content of your site and then just advertise that one web site. You can start off with just one site and then build another site and do this over and over again over time. Before long you will have created a multitude of sites that promote many different products or services and that are linked to one another, which creates your own network of inter-related sales sites. This could turn out to be extremely profitable for you over a period of time.

If you plan you business properly you would probably want to promote products or services that offer two-tier affiliate marketing programs. With two-tier affiliate marketing programs you will not only get paid for your direct sales, but you will also be paid a percentage commission for the sales that your direct sales members make. This can be a very powerful and profitable plan for your business and it creates what is called "residual income."

An important part of your business plan should include some residual income programs. These residual income programs will allow you to earn multiple commissions each month from just one sale instead of having to sale a multitude of different products over and over again. It is recommended by many of the most successful Internet marketers to concentrate about 75% of your efforts on residual income programs such as monthly subscription membership sites. These types of businesses will bring you monthly income automatically with just one sale as long as the buyer continues their active membership each month. Selling residual income products or services is by far a more beneficial method of earning affiliate commissions than focusing your efforts toward the tedious process selling individual products over and over again although, a combination of both approaches is advisable for the best marketing strategy.

Ethical Marketing

Ethical Marketing
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

To sell a product well, it is very important to use powerful selling words to really convey each and every little benefit that your product has to convince the customer. It is not uncommon to see words like “unbelievable” and “phenomenal” and something along those lines in really great salesletters.

However, there are some marketers who intentionally use hyped-up descriptions to sell off their products. These marketers mislead customers into thinking that their products offer benefits that do not really exist in reality. At this point, it would be appropriate to quote a story that really happened:

One evening, a fellow marketer in my MSN Messenger list messaged me to check out his newest salesletter for his product, an ebook on earning revenue with contextual advertisement. I logged on to his website and was drawn right into his sales copy! The reason was the salesletter dived right into my desires and promised that “everything I have ever wanted” can be obtained just by purchasing the said ebook and executing whatever is inside. The salesletter also made it seem that the author owns fleets of Mercedez Benz cars, luxurious mansions and private yachts.

The problem was I know this particular marketer personally. He is actually a 17 year old high school graduate looking for a few quick bucks by selling a little ebook he compiled with information collected from various sources from the Internet. My emergency alarm immediately kicked in and I can just imagine how many naïve newbies can be fooled with the deceptive sales copy.

The sad but very real fact is that there are many scam artists online, waiting to rip you off your hard-earned money. Hence, remember that the usual advice for consumers still apply online: use your common sense. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true.

Remember, when you intend to purchase something from the Internet, do a basic check-up on the merchant website. First and foremost, if you have even the slightest question on any of the features of the product mentioned, email the merchant regarding it and observe the attitude with which he/she replies. Customer support reveals a lot about the integrity of a business.

Finally, if you can't even find support email on their website, click the “Back” button and run away from the site at once!

Why invest in a home business?

Why invest in a home business?

Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

Tired of having to wake up early just so you can elude heavy traffic and arrive at your office before the clock says you are too early for the afternoon session? There might be a answer to that but it takes guts, talent and lots of hard work and resolution.

You can avoid all the negative things connected with going to the office daily by investing in a home based business. As the term denotes, a home based business refers to a business venture that is based right in the comforts of your home.

Most people dream of a home based job not only because it offers them an chance to work at home sans the hassle of going out and traveling to work everyday but also because of it financial rewards. A home based business may be risky because one never knows what destiny awaits his business venture. However, a person who has successfully established a home based business has hit gold.

A home based business affords one all the liberty to do as he pleases and to run his business using his own style and skills. On top of that, a home based business requires little capital and low overhead. Compared to a mall-based business which requires expensive rentals, a home based business requires no rent at all and this can be a favorable influence in the attainment of the business.

A person starting up a home based business will customarily choose a business which is already well-known to him either because he is already essentially in that business or it is his hobby. In such case, it is presumed that he already has most of the equipment needed to start the business. Most homes already have telephone connections so using a telephone for your home based business would no longer be an additional expense.

Creating A Sellable Product

Creating A Sellable Product
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

Many marketers have created or acquired products that they thought would sell well and, in their enthusiasm, set up everything from sales letters to websites to getting traffic. However, a lot of these marketers have forgotten the single most important factor that will affect their product sales – the "sellability" of the product.

When you begin creating products or buying rights to a certain product to sell, the most important factor you must take into account is the demand of the product. Do people want your product? It is simply stupid to waste a month's time preparing a product, setting up the website and required sales techniques only to find that people do not even flick an eyebrow at your product!

Your final goal is to deliver the product to your customer and collect his or her money. In order to do this, you must make sure your customer wants to buy your product in the first place. How do you find out if they want your product? Simple. Just ask! Ask in forums related to your niche. Hold a survey or public poll. The Internet is a flat playing field, and you have the power to reach just about anyone in the world who has an Internet connection.

Let's say you have this brilliant idea on creating a step-by-step instruction on how to cook Malaysian food. First, you must find out if anyone is interested (or even heard of) Malaysian food. To do this, go to a food-related forum and ask tactfully if anyone would be interested in learning Malaysian cuisine. Do not ask blatantly whether anyone would like to buy an ebook with instructions on how to cook Malaysian food, or you might be in danger of being accused of spamming.

On the other hand, you can give out a few samples of your Malaysian recipes to test the waters – see how the forum members react to them. If they show enthusiasm for learning more, then you definitely have a market in this. If they show no interest, then it is time to look for a new idea to market. You save time in the long run because you don't have to find out the low demand for your product the hard way.

If your idea is welcomed by the forum members you surveyed, you can go ahead and compile your extensive ebook on cooking Malaysian food because there is interest in the information you possess. Where there is interest, you can easily build up desire for your product, and with desire (plus good marketing), your purchases will arrive naturally!

Benefits of Joint Ventures

Benefits of Joint Ventures
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

Let's imagine a situation where we have two Internet marketers who know each other. One has a great product that will sell very well but he has no mailing list, no affiliates, nothing. The other is a great marketer with tens of thousands of subscribers in his mailing list, but the problem is he has nothing to sell to them. The very obvious solution here is to give the product to the great marketer with lots of contacts, and split the profits between them. This, my friend, is the very essence of Joint Ventures.

As more and more people start their own home based businesses online, the market is going to get more and more saturated and the competition will grow fiercer by the minute. The fastest, most effective and easiest way to build your own online business empire is through joint ventures. That is, join forces with other marketers to sell your product.

When you joint venture with another marketer, you can ask him (or her) to send an endorsement of your product to his existing mailing list, so you do not need to worry about collecting subscribers from scratch. You already have an easily accessible target market. The trick is to find the right marketer whose subscribers will be interested in your product. Once you achieve that, you won't even have to worry about generating traffic to your salesletter or finding affiliates to promote your product. All of that is already done for you.

When you joint venture with a solid player in the field, your perceived value and reputation will instantly increase because if this well-known person in the field is willing to work with you as a team, you must have some substance! Hence, when you manage to hook up a joint venture with someone who's a “regular player” in your niche market, your status will instantly change from “total newbie” to “guru status” overnight!

Last but definitely not least, you will get a chance to build a lasting relationship with a big figure in your niche market, and that alone will worth more than the profits you pull in over that single Joint Venture. When you have a dominant figure in the market as your friend, you will gain a lot of privileges and perks that no newbie like you could ever get their hands on – for example new insights into interesting product ideas and marketing strategies. You can't even buy that for hard cash!

So, start looking up a potential Joint Venture partner and try your best to convince him or her to strike up a deal with you!

Building a Customer Base

Building a Customer Base
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

Let me ask you a question: do you think it is easier to sell your product or services to a complete stranger or to a person you have had contact before; whether it's an email conversation, forum participation or even an existing customer relationship (i.e. He has bought something from you). Without doubt, it would be harder to sell to a total stranger who does not know whether or not you are an honest seller, and whether or not they should trust your words and believe that your product or services will truly benefit them.

This is precisely why you should build up a customer base -- a group of people who trust you and will most likely buy a product that you offer to them. This will ensure that you have a recurring and consistent source of income. When you release a product or make an endorsement, you have a group of people always ready to hear what you have to say.

There are several sources that you can tap into to start building a customer base. For example, you can participate in an online discussion forum and give advice and help for free. It won't be long before people start to recognise your name and stop and listen everytime you have something to say. You will become a valuable friend and teacher, and gain the trust of these people. Would you buy something your close friend recommends?

Another way to build a customer base is to build a mailing list.

There are a gazillion methods to collect subscribers, but when it's boiled down to the very essence, it's all about proving your value to the crowd and offering an incentive to make people become part of your mailing list. A typical example would be a website choke-full of freely available, helpful and quality articles on a certain subject plus a "special report" that can be downloaded for free provided you give your email address. The rich content provides value, and the "special report" is the extra incentive.

Yet another source for your customer base, which is often forgotten, is your existing customers. If you bought this product from this particular person and he answered patiently to your every question, would you buy from him again in the future? Definitely. When a customer has given you his money, that's not the end of the affair
because by keeping in touch with him and developing a flourishing relationship with him, you will have a lifetime source of income.

Imagine if 100, 1000 or even 10000 customers are waiting to grab your newest products even before they are released! Hence, it's vital to build a customer base because it simply saves a lot of time and effort.

How to Start an Internet Business without Capital

How to Start an Internet Business without Capital
Copyright © Jerry Posey
Free ebook explains why it's not your fault you haven't made any money in network marketing

I often meet new Internet marketers on various forums and they aspire to earn the big bucks like some of the well-known personas out there, such as Yanik Silver and Bryan Kumar. However, most of these new marketers have only the slightest ideas on where to start, and a lot of them are not willing or able to invest a startup capital in their online business. However, it is almost impossible to start an Internet business without spending some money on basic infrastructure such as web hosting, domain names and so on. Hence, here is a rough guide on how to build an Internet business starting with $0.

The first and most important thing to do is to list out all your skills. What skills do you have? You may have picked up these skills through daily life (for example languages), through your job (hands-on knowledge on a specific niche) or from your hobbies (for example fishing). It is most vital to list down skills or knowledge that you have and might be in demand elsewhere. For example, you love fly-fishing and you do it every day after work. You may build your Internet business upon this: writing an instructional guide on fly-fishing, teaching people how to do it, etc. Best of all, you do not need to spend money to acquire this knowledge: you already have it.

So, the very first option, if you have no money to start off your online business, is to earn some capital using your already existing skills or knowledge. You can give tuition to students on your dominant subject in college, you can teach stuff about your hobby to people who are interested, you can write guides on knowledge or skills you picked up through experience and cannot be found in theoretical books.

Okay, let's say if you just can't think of any skills or knowledge that people might be interested in. Then, it's most important that you locate a workable business model and focus on that alone. You can obtain almost everything you need through bartering, web hosting, domain name or credit card processing, to name a few in exchange for your product (if you own one) or services like copywriting, ghostwriting and website designs. There is always some mundane job that people don't want to do, and you can do that for those people in exchange for things you need. You just need to ask for it!
